Dexy's Midnight Runners are a British pop band that incorporated soul elements in their music. Active between 1978 and 1983, then again on and off in the mid-80s and currently too, Dexy's Midnight Runners enjoyed their greatest success with their smash hit Come on Eileen. Often mistaken to be written by the Cure or the Clash, the song was the best selling single in the UK in 1982.
